June is when the farm really starts to wake up. The garden fills in, the days stretch late into the evening, apple blossoms give way to fruit, and suddenly there is more work than daylight. We plant, we weed, we move animals, and start getting our first real tastes from the garden. After the long North Idaho spring (or what we call “late winter,”) June feels full of possibility.
Our family spent the last half of the month in Europe visiting friends and family. While we were away, Fox, our Farm Concierge, held down the fort. We came home to happy plants and animals.
